North Albany Senior High Students Shine

For our first North Albany Students Shine page we would like to congratulate the following students on some extraordinary achievements.

Jackson Poett
 (year 7) came third in the 2018 State Downhill (mountain bike) Championships in the U/13 division held in Wellington Mills on September 8 and 9.  Jackson also came third overall for the 2018 Peel District Mountain Bike Club season. Congratulations Jackson.

Hamish Wilkes (year 8) Also involved in the 2018 State Downhill Championships, secured third spot in the U/15 division and came second overall in the 2018 Peel District Mountain Bike Club season. Hamish also came first in the U/14 Albany Urban Downhill race held in September. Great results Hamish.


Emily Wiggins (year 8) Recently competed in the WA State road race championships (cycling). Emily won by more than one minute in the U/15 women's race. The following day in the 35km race, Emily was part of a three rider breakaway early sprint to cross the line and claim second place.  Congratulations Emily on your strong ongoing cycling achievements. 


Danica Wiggins (year 11) Danica also competed in the WA State Championships in the U/17 women's 68km road race. Danica was part of a 5 strong mid break away and produced a strong sprint home to claim the win.  Congratulations on an amazing effort. 

Hayden Kinnear (year 11) Had a fantastic season again in the 2018 State Downhill Championships coming third in the U/19 division. Hayden achieved a fantastic result by coming first in the 2018 U/19 Peel district Mountain Bike Club season. Hayden also competed in the Albany Urban Downhill race and came first in the U/18 category. Congratulations Hayden on a fantastic first year of racing downhill.

Kyle Kowalski (year 11) Recently went to Queensland's Sunshine Coast to represent WA at the School Sport Australia national cross-country championships. This was Kyle's first time competing on a national level and placed in the top 50. Congratulations Kyle on a super effort.


Charlotte Musk (year 10 recently left NASHS) has been selected again for the state country girls U/16 soccer team this year, travelling to the Singa Cup in November (Singapore). Congratulations Charlotte and we wish you all the best
